On September 12, both the Embassy of China in Canada and the Consulate General in Vancouver announced:StartingSeptember 30, 2025, the Chinese visa application process will move fully online.

最大的变化在哪里？What’s the Biggest Change?
过去：在线填写表格 → 打印纸质版 → 准备一堆材料 → 跑到签证中心现场审核。
现在：在线填写申请表+上传材料 → 等待线上初审 → 再去签证中心递交材料。
Now, things are changing:Fill out the application form online + Upload materials → Wait for online pre-review (3–5 business days) → Then go to the visa center to submit originals.
相比以前，这次升级能大大减少补件、来回跑的次数，同时让签证中心现场办理更高效。Compared with the old process, this upgradereduces the risk of missing documents and unnecessary trips, while speeding up on-site processing.

Step 4 缴费 & 采集指纹 / Payment & Biometrics在签证中心缴纳费用并采集指纹（部分人群可免采指纹）。Pay the fees and collect biometrics at the center (some applicants are exempt).
Step 5 领取证件 / Pick Up Your Visa普通件：4个工作日，加急：3个工作日，特急：2个工作日。Standard: 4 business days, Express: 3 business days, Rush: 2 business days.

14岁以下 & 70岁以上申请人
外交护照持有人
过去5年同一本护照在同一馆采集过指纹
双手指纹无法采集的人
Applicants under 14 or over 70
Diplomatic passport holders
Those who submitted fingerprints within the last 5 years at the same embassy/consulate
Applicants with all ten fingerprints missing/unable to be collected
❗ 特别提醒 / Important Notes
签证中心只负责受理和递交，不负责“批准签证”。最终是否获批，由中国驻加使馆决定。
签证费、服务费、邮寄费一律不退。
建议需要邮寄的申请人至少提前一个月开始办理。
1. The visa center handles submissions only — approval decisions rest with the Embassy.
2. Visa fees, service fees, and mailing fees are non-refundable.
3. Applicants requiring mail-in service should apply at least one month in advance.
